How to Lay Laminate Flooring

Laying Laminate Flooring

Laying Laminate Flooring

Tools for the Job:

Flooring Tools such as Spacers, Pull Bar, Knocking Block.
Square
Mitre Saw
Snap off knife
Tape Measure
Pencil
Goggles
Face Mask
Knee Pads

Easy to lay on smooth flat surfaces as long as it is dry and level. Ideally it should be firm as well, and you need to ensure concrete is fully dried, and any protruding metals are banged in or cleared. You will want to prepare the room by sweeping and cleaning any rubbish. It is a good idea to leave the laminate in the room for 24 hours before using to allow it to condition to the room.

Laminate should be laid as a floating floor and not glued. Ideally underlay should be used as well. Planks should be laid length ways parallel to the longest wall of the room. For a good overview of doing the job correctly, watch this video below from Wickes (UK) for a good overview.

New Web Hosting for Hot Pot Paint

Web Hosting Transfer is Complete

We had been hosting with one company for over 4 years, but this past 6 months has been difficult and the service level had dropped quite considerably. We decided to make the move to HostGator, a web hosting company that has many years in the business, offers 24/7 support and comes with a good reputation overall.

We made the move last weekend and during the week and there support was fantastic. They helped us through each stage of the process and ensured via their test system that all was working and functioning correctly. We had a couple of small issues (like email accounts showing as unread in Outlook, but this was to be expected anyway).

Happy with our new web home, we hope to bring you more great content over the coming months including specials, Facebook competitions and more.

Help us out by liking us on Facebook, coming into the store and letting us know how we can improve our service to you.

Thank you for your ongoing support, it is always truly appreciated and we look forward to be of service to you and your paint and hardware needs throughout the rest of 2015 and beyond.

If you are in need of hosting for yourself, then check out the image below or click here. Look for ‘shared’ hosting as this is the cheaper start up option and is sufficient for the majority of start up web sites and business on the web. Make sure you enter the coupon code hotpotpaint and you will get 25% off your first order – sweet!

What Colour Do You Like Your Roof?

South African Sun is hard on the roof tops of most South African Homes. It needs to cope with some heavy sun rays and then there is the issue of the material the roof is constructed from.

In the Cape, its common to see those Green, sometimes Blue roof tops, where as the Vaal Triangle has Red making a popular choice.

Be sure to prep your roof correctly before applying your chosen paint, even hire in a professional if you do not want the hassle of doing the work for yourself.
